Bobby and I are engaged!!! :) We couldn't be happier!! We have felt such an outpouring of love from our family and friends these past three weeks that has simply been incredible. The verse I'm memorizing this month is: "Take delight in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart." Psalm 37:4 How fitting for this event! Bobby is the man I've prayed for and marrying him is the biggest desire of my heart. It's been very evident in our relationship that God designed us for each other. What I lack, Bobby has to give me and vice versa. I can not wait to call him my husband in seven months!!
I'm not going to share the whole story of how Bobby proposed on here, but if you would like to know just ask me! I love telling the story :) The short version is that he took me to the top of Howard's Knob, which gives a great view of our entire school and the mountains. We went at sunrise and it was a beautiful morning that I will always remember. I wanted to share some pictures from it and pictures from our families getting together to celebrate our engagement and from our dear friend Janea's engagement party for us in Boone. THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for the way everyone has poured out their love and well wishes on us!!! I don't know that I'll ever be able to find the right words to describe our emotions and just how loved we have felt by our Father, our family, and our friends.
The view on the left is right before the sun rose and on the right is what it looked like right after Bobby asked me to marry him! It was incredible to turn around after he proposed and see the sun just poking out of the clouds :)
This is the first picture I've posted of my beautiful ring! Bobby designed it himself with a jeweler back home and I still look at it in awe every day. I can't believe I didn't catch on to Bobby's mom asking me to get our nails done together the Saturday before we got engaged! So sneaky! ;)
I don't think I'll ever forget how ridiculously giddy and happy we felt for the rest of the day!! Bobby told me when we got engaged that he had also planned a dinner with both of our immediate families and a party with his family and my extended family that weekend to celebrate our engagement! These pictures are from our engagement party thrown for us by our sweet families :) Thanks Mom for taking the pictures of us!
Mr. Willix created a fun "how well do you know each other" game for us to play :) I think we did pretty well!
Janea threw us an AMAZING engagement party back in Boone!! Our friends came to celebrate us, hear the story, pray over our marriage, and play more engagement games! Just when we thought all the celebrating was over, our friends made us feel incredibly loved all over again :) Bobby and I both feel so blessed to call such wonderful people our closest friends.
I still can't get over how cute this sign is that Hannah made us!!! There's a very likely chance it will be making an appearance close to the cake at our wedding... :)
I can't wait to call this man of God my husband! My life wouldn't be the same without him by my side and I'm so glad we get to spend the rest of our lives together :) I hope this blog post expresses our gratitude to everyone for the gifts, kind words, and love we have felt in the past few weeks! We have been absolutely showered with blessings and favor during this time in our lives and couldn't be happier!!
I'll be posting about our wedding planning process on here as well, so keep coming back to read about our journey to becoming husband and wife!
