On the day of Ashley’s bridal session the weather forecast was not good. It was a 60% chance of rain around the time we were shooting and had been raining off and on all afternoon. Ashley was traveling in for her session and we couldn’t re-schedule it so our rain back-up plan was to change locations from Fearrington Village where her and Justin were getting married to her parent’s home nearby. I was honestly a little sad that we wouldn’t be shooting at Fearrington since I love it there, but I was completely blown away by the gorgeous setting her parent’s home provided and forgot all about Fearrington once I pulled up!
While I drove to their home I was praying and praying for the rain to hold off even for a few minutes to give us the chance to do a few portraits outside. As I drove I began to see the sun peeking through the clouds in the distance and as I pulled into their driveway it was still raining but by the time I had walked to the front door it had completely stopped and the SUN came out! I couldn’t believe it!
Ashley’s smile was as radiant as the surprise sunshine! She looks like a princess doesn’t she?! It was our first time meeting that day and I felt like we were old friends. Ashley has a contagious joy and relaxing, calm presence. I loved hearing how excited she was to get married in a couple of short months and meeting her sweet family. A day I was so nervous about because of the weather turned into one of my all-time favorite sessions!
Ashley, you are a stunningly beautiful person inside and out, and made the most gorgeous bride! Congratulations to you and Justin!!
