Sarah and Michael NC Art Museum Engagement by Ally Willix

We met Sarah and Michael on a gorgeous spring afternoon at the North Carolina Art Museum. They love being outside together and this location was perfect for their personalities! We had so much fun walking around the outside of the museum with them, chatting and finding out what we all had in common. Sarah and Michael have been together for awhile and they have this wonderful comfort between them - like they were always meant to be together.

We can’t wait for their wedding at one of our favorite downtown Raleigh venues, The Stockroom, this fall!

Courtney's Jones Chapel Bridals by Ally Willix

A&B JonesChapelBride 11.jpg

Courtney and Al were married this past Saturday on a beautiful August day. Courtney is such a bright and bubbly person who lights up any room with her smile! She made an absolutely stunning bride and we loved capturing these bridal portraits at the chapel were they were married.

Courtney added many special touches from her family to her bridal look such as jewelry from her grandmothers, but our favorite detail was that she put roses from her mom's garden into her bouquet! How amazing is that?!

Congratulations, Mrs. Dickens!! You made a gorgeous bride, both inside and out!

Katrina and Boone NC State Arboretum Engagement by Ally Willix

We adore these two!! Katrina and Boone are two of the kindest, sweetest people ever and they are crazy about each other. They have that genuine Southern hospitality that makes you feel like you've been friends with them all your life! Katrina recently shared this video testimony and I wanted to link it here too. Bobby and I teared up watching it! Katrina and Boone have this amazing story, and the fact that Boone helped Katrina discover her love for Jesus just makes my heart swell with joy! Photographing beautiful stories like theirs will never, ever get old. If you'd like to watch Katrina's video testimony click here

Katrina and Boone, we are so happy that we have the honor of photographing your wedding this year! We're counting down the days until September!

August 2016 Goals by Ally Willix

A&B KaitlinHollandMaternity 1.jpg

July was such a fun month! It's always one of our favorite months because we love celebrating each other's birthdays and also because it feels like the epitome of summer! Last month was the first time we shared our monthly goals on the new blog and knowing they were out there for the world to see gave us a lot of accountability! We checked off most of our July goals!

It's funny how we thought summer would be a slower season for us because we have less weddings in the summer (our busiest seasons are always Spring and Fall). We were definitely wrong about that! Our calendar last month and this month is very full, but in the best way!

August Goals

  • Launch Bobby's Leather Business! (We're SO excited about this!)
  • Read Seven with the NRP Book Club
  • Go to an outdoor movie
  • Continue to take a sabbath once a week
  • Begin planning a dear friend's baby shower!
  • Plan some fun things to do in NYC for Ally's mother/daughter trip there later this month!
  • Blog two times a week (we have so many great sessions and weddings to share!)

We would love to hear about your goals for this month! And if you have any recommendations for fun stuff to do/eat in NYC!!

Amanda's Matthew's House Bridals by Ally Willix

A&B AmandaBridal 48.jpg

Amanda is so full of life and has this incredibly joyful spirit about her that is contagious! She was such a laid-back bride (she even went barefoot on her wedding day!) and at the same time she's so passionate about everything, especially her love for Evan! Amanda is one of those people that you always want to be around because of the joy she brings everywhere she goes! She is truly stunning both inside and out. We were so honored to capture Amanda and Evan's wedding day and can't wait to share more soon!
